Recently, I traveled to Stockton Springs and had a WONDERFUL visit at Lilac Place. The accommodations were comfortable, cozy, and Nancy-Linn was warm and just a joy. Before I arrived, I did not have time to really plan what my husband would do while there so I approached Nancy with HELP, what can I do to keep him occupied. She came up with great ideas and we were extremely happy with our stay. The relaxation we enjoyed was so much needed…..I cannot wait to return….Oh Yes, while there we met some of the local business owners and that was a thrill…..the food was fabulous every place Nancy recommended…I highly recommend Lilac Place to anyone looking for a special vacation in Maine…
Hugs to Nancy-Linn at Lilac Place!!!!!!

August,
We enjoyed our stay at the Lilac Place this week, we are just getting home today and the upstairs apartment was perfect – clean, comfortable, quiet and centrally located for a lot of great day trips- Acadia (Chase’s restaurant was as good as you said it would be), Camden/Rockport, Fort Knox and the observatory. Actually we enjoyed enjoyed Belfast a lot – wasn’t quite as “touristy” as some other towns on the coast. Thanks so much for providing such a great place at a very reasonable rate – it was a welcome relief from the motels we were in the other three nights of our trip. We will be sure to stay at the Lilac Place again if we get back up that way.
Regards,
Bruce Timmons, Tennessee
Great place to stay on the mid-coast, August 22,My family (wife, son, myself)recently stayed here on a trip through Maine. Very clean, comfortable, affordable spot centrally located to Belfast, Camden/Rockport, Acadia, etc. Also, a fishing pier at Fort Point is nearby so I could fish while everyone else slept in.The kitchen had everything you need if you don’t want to eat out every single meal. A word of advice – if you want luxury or to be in the thick of restaurants, bars, lots of people and touristy places then Stockton Springs isn’t the place for you.It is a very small, quiet village but there are nice restaurants within 5-10 minutes of the apartment. Also, Belfast is very close by and it turned out to be one of our favorite towns on the whole coast. For our purposes, the upstairs apartment was perfect and we would definetly stay here again. I rated it 5 stars because of everything mentioned above.

My husband and I have stayed at Lilac Place and loved it! It is in a great location, near antique shops and lobster and Acadia National Park. The apartment is rented at a very affordable price, clean and is decorated with antiques that I love. Very relaxing and I look forward to visiting again. I highly recommend Lilac Place to Maine Lovers everywhere! Thank you Nancy for taking such pride in your Lilac Place….Cannot wait for our next visit! Elizabeth and Roger Nolfe

We absolutely loved the Lilac place, my wife and I stayed here two weeks in 2008, with our then foster, but now fully adopted little boy. I linked your place to my website… slingmoore.com We had a great time there.

Although we have not yet had the pleasure of staying with Nancy-Linn at Lilac Place, we have had the good fortune to have been her guest at her previous B&B establishment in Searsport seven or eight times over the past several years.
We were always impressed with her graciousness, hospitality, and the way she makes every guest feel special. She has a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area; ever ready with suggesting for dining, shopping, activities, and touring the beautiful Maine coast. We are sure you will find that Lilac Place to be an excellent choice for your home-away-from-home in Maine.

Some of this last September, and some of this last October, I’ve walked some of the great state of Maine, and bus-rode through some more of it; well, and bicycled, too. But there is nothing like walking, when there is something like Maine. And one of the stretches I walked was from Searsport to Bucksport via Stockton Springs (and a few days later Bucksport to Searsport via the same). And let me tell you: Stockton Springs left an impression in me like only one more town could compare to, and that is Stonington. Let me explain briefly that impression – the one I’d been searching to get all of my previous traveling the last 3 years. ‘Finally’, I said to myself that Friday evening; ‘finally a quiet small town that’s not ran over by the thousands of cars that roam the American roads, thanks to which a true, private sense of community can be preserved’. The aestheticism that tends to rule my loves, my searches, has learned to take other, more meaningful factors into consideration too beside beauty, charm. That’s why, though you could say Bar Harbor, for instance, is more ‘charming’, especially for a hilly-countryside lover, I’d first rather spend some time in Stockton Springs, which to me, in any case, has a different kind of charm.
